Sept. 8, 2010
Kellie Harper and the NC State women's basketball program will host 13 home games to highlight the 2010-11 schedule, as released by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Wednesday.
The Wolfpack will play a total of 17 games against teams that advanced to postseason tournaments last year, including eight contests against teams that competed in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
"We are so excited about this upcoming season," Harper said. "Our team will be challenged from our season opening tournament in November to the ACC tournament in March. It's important that we focus on one game at a time and work to improve throughout the year."
The Wolfpack begins a third-straight season by hosting its own tournament - the Sheraton Raleigh Wolfpack Invitational on Nov. 12 and 13. NC State welcomes College of Charleston, Creighton and Liberty to Raleigh for a season-opening weekend of hoops. The Pack will tip-off with Charleston, while Creighton and Liberty will do battle in the other featured matchup.
NC State will be tested early away from home with a pair of non-conference games against Alabama (Nov. 17) and Richmond (Nov. 20), before returning home to Reynolds Coliseum to take on Old Dominion on Nov. 23.
The Wolfpack will then head West for the first of two trips this season. The Thanksgiving weekend will have the red and white at the Nevada Tournament in Reno, where the club will face off against the host Wolf Pack on Nov. 26. The following day will feature a matchup with either Minnesota or San Diego State, a team that beat Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last year.

NC State then visits Illinois on Dec. 1 in the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Pack hosted the Illini in this same event three seasons ago and came away with a 61-47 win at Reynolds.
The non-conference schedule features additional home dates against Southern Cal (Dec. 5), Presbyterian (Dec. 16), and Fairfield (Dec. 28).
Other road non-league games will take the Pack to South Carolina (Dec. 12) and to the Long Beach State Tournament just before Christmas on Dec. 19 and 20 in Long Beach, Calif. Opponents have not yet been determined.
NC State has scheduled North Greenville for an exhibition on Nov. 7 in Raleigh.
The ACC season gets underway at home against Clemson on Jan. 6. The Pack will once again face Boston College, North Carolina and Wake Forest both home and away this season.
In other league contests, NC State hosts Duke, Florida State and Virginia. Conference road games feature Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami and Virginia Tech.
No fewer than seven games are scheduled for television, including at Georgia Tech on ESPN2 on February 13, the Duke game on Jan. 23 is a FOX Sports national broadcast, and the Illinois game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
The Wake Forest (Jan. 10), Florida State (Jan. 30), Maryland (Feb. 6) and North Carolina (Feb. 21) matchups can be seen on the Regional Sports Network.
Other television dates and times, along with GoPack.com All-Access broadcasts will be announced at a later time.
The ACC Tournament is back at the Greensboro Coliseum for the 11th straight year and will be played March 3-6.
