RALEIGH, N.C. - Head coach Jon Choboy announced today the NC State men's tennis 2010-11 schedule. The challenging slate features 10 tournaments and 20 head-to-head match-ups for the Wolfpack, including nine against programs that made an appearance in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
The fall season will begin in mid-September, as the Wolfpack travels to Charlottesville, Va., for the University of Virginia Invitational. A busy opening month continues with a short trip to Cary, N.C., for the Duke Nike Fab Four, followed by another tournament in Charlottesville and stops in nearby Chapel Hill, N.C., Tulsa, Okla., and Wilmington, N.C.
NC State will kick off the 2011 spring portion of the season with home matches against Davidson and UNC Wilmington on Jan. 15. The Wolfpack will then face 2010 Sweet-16 participant Louisville on Jan. 21, before returning home on Feb. 11 to take on Northwestern.
The ACC schedule will serve as a challenging one for the Wolfpack, with seven conference opponents making an appearance in last year's NCAA Championships. The ACC season begins on March 18 for NC State, as the Pack battles rival North Carolina in Raleigh.
The road does not get any easier for the Wolfpack, as six of the next eight challengers in ACC play competed in the postseason.
The 2011 ACC Championships will be held in Cary, N.C.
NC State boasts nine returners from last year's unit that went 15-12 overall with a 3-8 record in ACC play.
