Roberts and Hoer Claim ACC Cross Country Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State's Sandy Roberts was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week, while NC State's Laura Hoer  and Clemson's Kim Ruck share this week's Women's Cross Country honors.

In his first race for NC State after transferring from Georgetown, Roberts edged out a close pack at the end to win the individual championship at the Wolfpack Invitational. The Raleigh, N.C., native finished the 5k course in 15:11.4, edging out teammate Brian Himelright by three-tenths of second.

Hoer, a true freshman from Asheville, N.C., in her collegiate race, not only set a 5k course record for the Wake Med course, she also won the women's race by 29.5 seconds.
