SAN FRANCISCO - NC State's Marissa Kastanek was one of 15 NCAA Division I freshmen women's basketball players named to the 2010 Full Court Press Freshman All-America team.
The Lincoln, Neb., native was selected on the third team by a panel of Full Court Press correspondents from across the nation.
Kastanek averaged 10.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, while earning ACC Freshman of the Year honors. The first-year guard led NC State to the NCAA Tournament with a 20-14 record.
Her 369 points was the eighth most by a freshman at NC State, while her 65 three-point field goals was one away from the freshman school record set by Jennifer Howard back in 1993-94.
