No. 46 M. Tennis Travels to Wake Forest

NC State Heads to Winston-Salem: No. 46 NC State travels across the state to take on in-state rival No. Wake Forest on Wednesday, March 24 at 3:00 p.m.
The Series Versus Wake Forest: This will be the 54th meeting between the Pack and Demon Deacons. It is the fifth longest series for NC State. The two met last year, with Wake Forest winning 5-2. The Wolfpack last beat the Demon Deacons back in 1999, winning 4-3.
Successful Spring Break: NC State traveled down to Houston, Texas to partake in the 52nd Rice Invitational, and went 2-1 over three days. On Friday, the Wolfpack took down TAMCC 4-1 after losing the doubles point. The Pack couldn’t take advantage of winning the doubles point and fell to host No. 48 Rice on Saturday 4-1. The Pack ended the tournament with a 4-0 sweep of Tulane.
Choboy Earns 100th Victory at State: On Saturday, March 13, the Wolfpack took down No. 53 William & Mary 5-2 to give head coach Jon Choboy his 100th victory at NC State. In his seven-plus seasons with the Wolfpack, Choboy has compiled a 103-99 record. Choboy is the only NC State men’s tennis coach to collect at least 20 wins in one season. He’s accomplish the feat twice, winning 20 matches in 2006 and 23 matches in 2007. Before becoming the Pack’s coach in 2003, Choboy had successful stops at Brown and Charleston Southern. In his 15-plus seasons, Choboy’s record is 233-168.
