No. 40 M. Tennis Falls to No. 30 UNC

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The No. 40 NC State men's tennis team was beaten 6-1 by No. 30 North Carolina on Monday, March 15.
The Wolfpack fought hard, but lost the doubles point to the Tar Heels. Dominic Hodgson and Dave Thomson fell 8-5 to Brennan Boyajian and Ryan Noble. Fernando Banos and and Jaime Pulgar lost to Cam Ahari and Jose Hernandez, 8-3. In what went to the tiebreak Rob Lowe and Frideric Prandecki were beated 9-8 (5) by Clay Donato and Stefan Hardy.
Rafael Paez was a bright spot in singles play for the Pack, upsetting No. 107 Noble 7-6 (3), 6-3. It was his fifth straight win.
Lowe lost 6-3, 6-3 to No. 103 Hardy. No. 125 D. Thomson suffered his second loss of the year when No. 97 Boyajian defeated him 6-2, 6-4. No. 94 Pulgar was beaten by No. 49 Donato, 6-4, 6-2.
Hodgson was beaten by No. 68 Hernandez, 7-5, 6-4. Banos battled back and forth with Andrew Crone, but fell short 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (3).
The Wolfpack moves to 10-3 on the year and 0-1 in the ACC. The Pack travels down to Houston, Texas on Friday, March 19 to take on three opponents in three days. The Pack open with TAMCC on Friday at 9:00 a.m., then play No. 51 Rice on Saturday at noon, and end with Tulane on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
