Raleigh, N.C. - Two members of the NC State women's cross country team were named to the 2009 All-ACC Academic team. Sophomore Emily Pritt and senior Brittany Tinsley were honored. This is the second consecutive year that Pritt has been named, and the third time in Tinsley's career.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career.
The honors keep coming for Pritt who was named an All-American back in November for her performance at the NCAA Championships, where she placed 17th. Pritt, a major in communications, is the first woman’s All-American for the Wolfpack since Julia Lucas and Bona Jones.
Tinsley, a major in education-general studies, was the other member of the women's team to make the NCAA Championships. Tinsley was one one of three in the ACC to be named to the All-Academic team for the third time.
