Amber White Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State senior guard Amber White earned the first 2010-11 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor after being named Most Valuable Player of the Sheraton Raleigh Wolfpack Invitational.
White earned MVP honors after leading NC State to a pair of victories last weekend over College of Charleston and Creighton. The senior from Coatesville, Pa., averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. In addition, White scored a career-high 29 points, which stands today as the league-high, on 11-of-19 shooting in the 84-71 title game win over Creighton.
She also pulled down five rebounds, handed out three assists and blocked one shot. White shot 50.0 percent (12-of-24) from the field, and made 10-of-12 attempts from the free throw line over the two games.
NC State visits Alabama on Wednesday in a battle of two clubs with a 2-0 record. Tip time is 7 p.m. ET in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
