Thomson Ends Run at ITA Carolinas Regional

Dave Thomson lost in the semifinals at the ITA Carolinas Regional today, ending his sensational run at the fall tournament. Thomson fell to No. 30 Jose Hernandez of North Carolina, 6-1, 6-2, in an early morning tilt.
"It was a good tournament for Dave all together," said head coach Jon Choboy. "He had a great showing, and found some things he needs to work on to get a bit better. He gained more from this loss than his wins.
"The victories are a product of his hard work this fall and the good things that he's been doing. I am very proud of his effort over the past week."
Thomson collected five wins over a four-day span, including two against ranked competition.
In all, NC State collected 13 singles and four doubles victories at the ITA Carolinas Regional.
The Pack will resume play this weekend at the UNC Wilmington Invitational.
