TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -Cierra Bravard hit a layup with 11 seconds left and added a free throw with 5.4 seconds to go to give No. 16 Florida State a 74-71 win over NC State on Sunday.
NC State (11-7, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) had a chance to tie it, but Christian Hunnicut intercepted a pass at half-court for FSU (16-3, 3-1) to preserve the win.
The Wolfpack tried to tie the game after Bravard's basket, but Amber White was called for an offensive foul on her drive to the hoop with six seconds remaining. Bravard's go-ahead layup gave Florida State its first lead since midway through the first half.
Alysha Harvin led FSU with 21 points, while Bravard added 13 and Courtney Ward and Angel Gray each added 11. The Seminoles overcame 22 turnovers.
Freshman Marissa Kastanek scored 18 points for NC State, while Nikitta Gartrell had 17 and both Amber White and Lucy Ellison had 10 points.
