Men's Tennis Took the Court in Virginia Classic

Charlottesville, Va. - Several members of the NC State men's tennis team took the court in the University of Virginia Classic from Sept. 11-13.
In his first match Rob Lowe took on No. 84 Drew Courtney of Virginia, but lost 6-2, 6-3. In his second match he fell to No. 74 Steven Forman of Wake Forest, 6-3, 7-6. In the consolation bracket Lowe beat Tuus of Liberty, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. After advancing he lost to David Hopkins of Wake Forest, 6-3, 6-4.
Frideric Prandecki opened against Santiago Villegas of Virginia, but fell short 4-6, 6-0, 6-3. Following that match he went against Zachary Watson of Radford, and lost 6-2, 2-6, 6-1. In the consolation round, Prandecki won by default against Jeremy Bonnevalle of East Tennessee State. In his final match, Prandecki lost to Schneiderman of Colorado 6-2, 6-1.
In Will Rollinson's first match, he lost to Danny Kreyman of Wake Forest, 6-0, 6-0. In the consolation round, Rolinson was defeat, 6-1, 6-2, by Mike Smith of James Madison. Niklas Schroeder of Eastern Kentucky beat Rolinson, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5, in his final match.
In doubles competition, Lowe and Prandecki lost to the No. 4 doubles team, Houston Barrick and Sanam Singh of Virginia, 8-1. They then took on Alex Das and Carles Pons of Eastern Kentucky, winning 9-7. In their final match, Lowe and Prandecki fell short against the No. 48 doubles team, Philip Nemec and Chase Helpingstine of Elon, 9-7.
Members of the NC State tennis team will compete next weekend at Travelers Rest, S.C. in the Cliff's Fall Classic.
