Softball Lands Two on All-ACC Academic Team

RALEIGH, N.C. – Bridget Desbois and Allison Presnell of the NC State softball team were both named to the 2009 All-ACC Academic Softball Team as announced by league Commissioner John D. Swofford on Thursday, Aug. 6.

Desbois, the Pack’s starting third baseman, makes her first appearance on the list. This past season she started 46 of 48 games and led the squad in RBIs with 22. A junior in the 2010 season, the McLean, Va., native majors in biological sciences.

Presnell’s accolade marks the third time she has appeared on the list. Hailing from Harrisburg, N.C., she majors in biomedical engineering and holds the school record for RBIs in a game with six. A senior in the upcoming campaign, she served as a first basemen, outfielder and designated player this past year while tying for the team lead in home runs with seven.

To be considered for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the most recent semester and for their careers.
