No. 34 Men's Tennis Sweeps UNC Greensboro

RALEIGH, N.C. - The No. 34 NC State men's tennis team defeated UNC Greensboro on Sunday, Feb. 22 in Raleigh, N.C. at the JW Isenhour Tennis Center. The Pack swept the doubles matches and won all of the singles matches en route to the 7-0 victory. The Wolfpack is now 6-5 on the season, and the Spartans fall to 3-2.
NC State started the doubles matches with junior Frideric Prandecki and sophomore Rob Lowe shutting out Andrey Bubnov and Yaroslav Litus, 8-0, at No. 3. The No. 38 doubles team of senior Jay Weinacker and freshman Jaime Pulgar took down William John and Kyle Eddlins, 8-3, at No. 2 to secure the doubles point and early lead for the Pack. Senior Christian Welte and redshirt freshman Julian Sullivan defeated Orcun Seyrek and Arsel Kumdereli, 8-3, at No. 1 to complete the Pack's sweep of the doubles bouts.
Sullivan was the first to win his singles match, defeating Kumdereli, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3. Senior Derek Stephens took down Litus, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 4, and No. 89 Weinacker secured the win for the Pack with a third set victory over Seyrek, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 1.
Pulgar took down Bubnov, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 2, and freshman Akash Gujarati defeated Kyle Eddlins, 7-6(3), 6-3, at No. 6. Redshirt freshman Eric Turner finished the sweep with a 7-6(5), 4-6, 1-0(6), victory over Jacob Wright at No. 5.
The Pack will travel to Madison, Wisc. to take on Wisconsin on Saturday, Feb. 28.
