RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State head women’s basketball coach Kellie Harper announced Saturday that Kelsie Lliteras has officially joined the Wolfpack program.
Lliteras signed her National Letter of Intent in November of 2008 during the early signing period along with freshman teammate Marissa Kastanek.
Lliteras, a 6-4 forward from Chadron, Neb., was enrolled part-time at Durham Technical Community College this past semester. She will begin classes at NC State during the upcoming spring semester.
“We’re thrilled to finally have Kelsie join our program,” said Harper. “She did what she had to do in the classroom to get to this point and we’re excited what she will bring to our team the next four years.”
She was a preseason honorable mention All-American by Sporting News leading into her senior campaign at Chadron High School. She wound up averaging 16.1 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in her final prep season.
Lliteras capped her senior year by being named Class C-1first team all-state by the Lincoln Journal-Star and the Associated Press, and she was first-team all-conference.
As a junior, she was named honorable mention all-state after averaging 13.7 points and 8.9 rebounds, while shooting 45.1 and 69.8 percent from the field and free throw line respectively. She set game high’s with 28 points against Bayard and 17 rebounds against Sidney.
Lliteras, who averaged 8.1 points and 7.9 rebounds as a sophomore, played three years of AAU with Kastanek, the Wolfpack’s current leading scorer at 11.1 points per game.
