FIU prevails 64-61 over WMU in Consolation Game

RALEIGH, N.C. - Marquita Adley notched a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds to lead FIU to a 64-61 victory over Western Michigan Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Sheraton Raleigh Wolfpack Invitational.
Michelle Gonzalez also connected for 14 points, while Maja Krajacic tossed in 12 points in the winning effort for the Golden Panthers.
Taylor Manley led all scorers with 19 points for Western Michigan, who fell to 0-2 on the young season. Miame Giden had 14 points, while Aurielle Anderson had 12 points.
Manley sent the game into overtime with a jumper with 1:18 left in regulation.
In the extra session, Adley gave FIU the lead for good with a jumper at the 1:36 mark for a 62-61 lead. Gonzalez added a layup in the final seconds to provide the final three-point victory.
