M. Tennis Began First Day of ITA Regionals

Chapel Hill, N.C. - Several members of the NC State men's tennis team traveled to Chapel Hill, N.C. to compete in the ITA Regional Championship on Friday, Oct. 16.
In singles competition, Jaime Pulgar won his match 6-2, 6-1, over Chad Brady of Wake Forest. Rob Lowe defeated Alain Michael of Duke, 6-0, 7-5.
David Chermak was beaten, 1-6, 7-5, 6-1, by Michael Pereira of UNC Wilmington. Frideric Prandecki lost a hard fought match to Walker Lyons of Davidson, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
In doubles competition, Lowe and Prandecki teamed up to take down Patrick Olobo and Jack Waissan of NC Central, 8-2. Following that match they were defeated by David Hopkins and Carlos Salmon of Wake Forest.
In their first match Akash Gujarati and Pulgar lost to Bryan Oakley and Henrik Skalmerud of East Carolina, 9-8(3).
Competition will continue tomorrow.
