Weinacker Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Jay Weinacker was named the ACC Player of the Week on Tuesday, January 20, after his impressive performance in the No. 49 NC State tennis team's opening matches of the spring season. Weinacker, who is ranked No. 55 in the ITA rankings, earned two wins last week at the No. 1 spot. He defeated Gustavo Bertei of UNC Wilmington, 6-1, 6-4, and then took down Adam Slagter of No. 38 Penn State, 6-2, 6-4. Weinacker, along with doubles partner Jaime Pulgar, also earned two doubles wins at the No. 2 spot, 8-1, and 8-3, to lead the Pack to a 2-0 start.

NC State will face Louisville on Friday, Jan. 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
