No. 49 Men's Tennis Hosts UNCW

RALEIGH, N.C. The No. 49 NC State men’s tennis team will open its spring season on Wednesday, Jan. 14 with a match against UNC Wilmington. The competition will begin at 5 p.m. at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Complex on NC State’s campus. The Pack currently has two nationally ranked singles players, seniors Jay Weinacker who is No. 56, and Christian Welte, who is No. 125. The Pack heads into the spring after a successful fall tournament season, in which various players competed in seven different tournaments. Weinacker increased his total singles wins to 90, five away from the school record, and Welte and junior Frideric Prandecki defeated five opponents to win the doubles title at the Southern Intercollegiate.
