Brock, Hojckova Finish Day One at ITA All-American

MALIBU, Calif. - Junior Berkeley Brock and sophomore Lenka Hojckova both earned victories in the first round of prequalifying matches in the women's tennis ITA All-American Championships in Malibu, Calif., on Saturday, Sept. 27. Each also suffered a loss in the second round of play. The pair also competed in doubles play earlier in the day and earned a win to advance in the prequalifying round.
Brock and Hojckova took down Sarah Fansler and Leyla Entekhabi of Southern California, 8-5. Hojckova swiftly beat Nina Pantic (UCLA), 6-0, 6-4, and Brock defeated Megan Fudge (Illinois), 6-2, 6-3.
Hojckova faced Lutflana Budiharto of Whichita State in the second round, but fell 6-1, 6-0. Brock lost to Monica Dancevic of Georgia, 6-3, 6-4.
The pair will continue in doubles play tomorrow.
