Women's Tennis Completes UVA Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. - The NC State women's tennis team wrapped up the University of Virginia Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 22 with three singles wins and two doubles victories. Juniors Kristen Bleakley and Berkeley Brock, and sophomore Lenka Hojckova each won their second singles match of the weeknd in Charlottesville, Va.
Hojckova and Brock also earned a doubles win over Nadine Fahoum and Charleen Haarhoff of Old Dominion, 8-4. Bleakley and senior Neils Barringer lost in their doubles match, 8-3, to Dombrowolska and Spicin of ODU. Freshmen Diana Mortlock and Pender Sessoms also took down Dementyeva and Citic of Old Dominion, 8-2.
Brock defeated Haarfhoot, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, and Hojckova took down Fahoum, 6-4, 6-2. Barringer lost to Ana Bara (VCU), 7-5, 7-5, and Mortlock fell to Kateryna Yergina (VCU), 6-2, 6-3.
Bleakley won her match over Citic, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, and Sessoms lost to Dementyeva, 6-0, 6-0.
The Pack will next compete in the ITA All-American tournament beginning on Sept. 27 in Pacific Palisade, Calif.
