RALEIGH, N.C. Tickets for the NCAA Raleigh Regional in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship are now on sale through the NC State ticket office and GoPack.com.
The event, hosted by NC State March 28 and 30, 2009, will feature four teams in the Sweet Sixteen playing for the right to advance to the 2009 Final Four in St. Louis. (By NCAA rule, NC State cannot play at the RBC Center in this event.) For more information, check out the NCAA Raleigh Regional page on GoPack.com.
Ticket books are $50 for adults and $30 for seniors and students and are good for Saturday’s semifinal session and Monday’s regional final session. Tickets can be purchased here on-line or by calling the NC State ticket office at (919) 865-1510. All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket to enter the RBC Center for the games.
Everyone who purchases a minimum of two tickets through the NC State ticket office between now and Jan. 15 will be entered in a drawing to win two floor tickets and a parking pass to the Jan. 31, 2009, men’s game between NC State and North Carolina at the RBC Center.
This will be NC State’s second time hosting an NCAA women’s regional at the RBC Center. The first time was in 2002. The Wolfpack also served as first-and-second-round hosts at Reynolds Coliseum in 2003 and at the RBC Center in 2006.
“Reaching the Final Four is the pinnacle of both men’s and women’s basketball,” said NC State athletics director Lee Fowler said. “Anytime you have a chance to crown a champion that will advance to that point in the season, it’s a special event.
“We are proud to play a role in determining a Final Four team, by hosting the regional at the RBC Center. It’s another showcase event in our commitment to hosting championships here in Raleigh.”
In addition to hosting the women’s NCAA Tournament, NC State has served as host for six men’s and women’s College Cups, the NCAA soccer championships; two NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament first-and-second rounds; two NCAA gymnastics regionals and the 2008 NCAA Raleigh Baseball Regional.
