Women's Tennis Heads to UNCW Collegiate Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. The NC State women’s tennis team begins its fall tournament season this weekend as three players head to the UNC Wilmington Collegiate Tennis Invitational. Senior Neils Barringer and freshmen Diana Mortlock and Pender Sessoms will be traveling to Wilmington, N.C. on Friday, Sept. 12 for the competition.
Barringer has competed in fall tournaments since her freshman year and currently holds a 24-16 fall singles record and a 21-13 doubles record. Her first match will be on Friday at 12:30 p.m. versus Jennifer Betts of Furman. Mortlock will play against Audrey LePottier of ECU on Friday at 12:30 p.m., and Sessoms will take on Lindsay Leblang of UNCW on Friday at 2 p.m.
Barringer, Mortlock, and Sessoms will also be competing in doubles play. Sessoms, along with Brooke Mosteller of Furman, will take on Elisa Simonetti and Daleen Kloppers of Elon Friday at 9 a.m. Barringer and Mortlock will team up after a first round bye to take on the winner of the match between Laura Graybill and Jessica Margolis (Elon) and Priscilla Roberts and Kayla Schwenk (UNCW) on Friday at 10:15.
Competition will continue throughout the weekend, with the winners of each singles and doubles flight being determined on Sunday, Sept. 14.
