Khadijah Whittington Invited to Attend WNBA Draft

PALM HARBOR, FLA. - NC State senior Khadijah Whittington is among twenty of the top women’s basketball prospects from around the world that have been invited to attend the 2008 WNBA Draft presented by adidas on Wednesday, April 9 at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla.
The list is highlighted by four players who are still participating in the NCAA Women’s Final Four in Tampa, Fla. - Candace Parker, Nicky Anosike and Alexis Hornbuckle from Tennessee and Candice Wiggins from Stanford. Other key players expected to be in attendance are Sylvia Fowles from LSU, Tasha Humphrey from Georgia, Essence Carson and Matee Ajavon from Rutgers, Crystal Langhorne and Laura Harper from Maryland and Erlana Larkins from North Carolina.
The 2008 WNBA Draft presented by adidas will cap off a week-long celebration of events surrounding women’s basketball in Tampa. Expected to be the deepest in league history, the draft will begin at 1 p.m. ET from Innisbrook. ESPN2 will provide exclusive first round coverage of the 2008 WNBA Draft presented by adidas with continued coverage of the second and third rounds on both ESPNU and NBA TV.
