Whittington Tabbed Honorable Mention All-American

ATLANTA - NC State senior forward Khadijah Whittington was named to the State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team Honorable Mention list on Sunday by The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and State Farm.
Whittington was the catalyst for the Wolfpack all season long, leading the team in scoring (16.8), rebounding (11.7), steals (81) and blocks (58). She finished with 571 total points scored this year and a NC State-record 398 rebounds.
The Roanoke, Va., native was one of 40 finalists that was up for All-America honors by State Farm. She wound up as one of 30 named to the honorable mention list.
Whittington was also selected first team All-ACC and to the ACC All-Defensive team during her senior campaign.
NC State (21-13) reached the semifinal round of the Women's NIT this past Wednesday, before falling 58-57 at Michigan State.
One of three players in ACC history with 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 200 steals and 100 blocks, Whittington played all 129 games at NC State over the past four years, never missing a game.
She compiled a program-record 23 double-doubles this season, which left her second all-time at NC State with 43 career double-doubles. In addition, she stands fourth nationally in rebounds per game with 11.7.
Whittington is expected to be selected in the upcoming WNBA Draft this Wednesday from Tampa Bay, Fla. She was among about 40 of the top college seniors in the country impressing the WNBA coaches and scouts at the two-day Pre-Draft Camp, held this past weekend at the University of Tampa.
