Raleigh, N.C. - Fresh off a 5-2 victory over No. 32 Wake Forest last weekend, the No. 45 NC State women’s tennis team will host a pair of conference foes in the last weekend of the regular season. The Pack will play host to No. 11 Miami on Saturday at 12 p.m. in the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center before facing No. 19 Florida State at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Sunday’s match will also be Senior Day for the lone senior on the team Julia Roach and the program will be holding a tennis reunion the entire weekend to coincide with the matches.
Roach, along with Berkeley Brock and Lenka Hojckova have paced the Wolfpack so far this season. The trio has all recorded double-digit wins this season in singles competition. Roach enters the match four victories short in both singles and doubles from tying the school record for career wins in each category. Roach also leads the team this season with 12 doubles victories.
The Hurricanes are led by a trio of netters who are ranked. Laura Vallverdu (No. 20), Michaela Kissell (No. 53) and Romy Farah (No. 80) are all ranked in the latest ITA poll. Vallverdu and Farah also team up to form the No. 15 doubles team in the nation.
Florida State also has three ranked singles players in Katie Rybakova (No. 30), Lauren Macfarlane (No. 72) and Carolin Walter (No. 92). Rybakova and Ania Rynarzewska are ranked as the No. 33 duo in the nation as well.
