W. Tennis Drops Hokies, 4-3

NC State women's tennis took the first three singles matches and the doubles point to clinch a 4-3 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday in Raleigh. The Wolfpack (7-3, 1-0 ACC) were able to take advantage early in the match before the Hokies rallied late for the final margin.
Lenka Hojckova and Julia Roach improved to 8-1 in doubles with a convincing 8-1 win at No. 2. Moments later Berkeley Brock and Daria Petrovic sealed the doubles point with an 8-5 win at the top spot in the lineup.
In singles, Petrovic lost just three games to give NC State a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-1, win at No. 1.
Roach finished her match moments later with a 6-1, 6-4, triumph at No. 4 to move to 8-2 on the season.
Brock would finish off her match to clinch the team win at No. 3 singles. She won 6-1, 6-3, and is now 7-3 in the spring.
With the match decided, Hojckova would fall in a tight three-setter, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9), to put the Hokies on the board.
Tech would win at No. 5 and No. 6 singles for the final 4-3 margin.
The Wolfpack will return to the courts on Sunday, March. 9 with a home ACC contest against #66 Virginia at 1 pm.
