NC State men's tennis will host a pair of ranked ACC foes this weekend in the final two home meets of the 2008 season. The Wolfpack (9-8, 2-2 ACC) is ranked No. 53 nationally and is coming off a pair of 7-0 shutouts against league foes Boston College and Maryland. No. 49 Georgia Tech will take on the Pack on Friday, March 28 at 2 pm, while No. 54 Clemson will compete against the red and white on Sunday, March 30 at 1 pm.
The match against Clemson will serve as senior day for three Wolfpack seniors, including four year starter and standout, Nick Cavaday.
Cavaday, from London, England, has nine wins this spring, fourth on the team, and has been a staple in the top-3 spots exclusively while piling up 50 singles wins in his career, including 30 at No. 1 singles. Cavaday has also teamed with junior Jay Weinacker to post a 9-3 record at No. 1 singles and the duo is currently ranked No. 9 nationally by the ITA.
David Rozek, from Chardon, Ohio, is also finishing his final season in the red and white. Rozek has played doubles in eight matches and singles in two matches this season and has been invaulable as the team searches for a strong No. 3 doubles combo. In his career, Rozek has posted a 10-3 mark in singles and a 13-13 slate in doubles.
Daniel Schinke, from Pulheim, Germany, has seen limited action as a graduate student transfer in a pair of seasons with the Pack. Schinke is 3-3 in singles in his career and 4-2 in doubles.
NC State will finish its season with five straight road matches before the ACC Tournament on April 17-20.
