Boyd Awarded Prestigious Clarendon Award

NC State senior runner Jennifer Boyd was awarded the Clarendon Award from the University of Oxford. Boyd, who is a senior distance runner from Chesapeake, Virginia, will use the award to work towards her D.Phil in orthopaedic engineering at Wadham College within the University of Oxford.
The award is given to international graduate students based on academic standing and is funded by the Oxford University Press.
Boyd graduated from NC State with her B.S. in biomedical engineering in May of 2007 with a 4.0 GPA. She will earn her B.A. in German science and technology in May of 2008 with a 4.0 GPA, as well. Boyd also earned two minors, one in coaching education and the other in fitness leadership.
A member of five honor societies, Boyd was a Rhodes Scholarship finalist in 2007 and earned the national Goldwater Scholarship and NC State's Caldwell Academic Scholarship from 2003-07. She made the dean's list all nine semester at State.
