Whittington Named to Naismith Candidates List
Senior forward Khadijah Whittington is among 31 candidates vying for the 2008 Naismith Trophy presented by AT&T, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced. Whittington is among the ACC leaders in scoring, rebounding, steals, blocks and field goal percentage. The women’s list was voted on by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors, comprised of leading basketball journalists, coaches and administrators. The board based its criteria on player performances this season, and the list was narrowed down from the pre-season list of 50 candidates.

Shayla Fields leads the ACC with 35.35 minutes per game.
She has played 97.7 percent (430 of 440) of the total minutes in ACC contests
Enters Monday's game at UNC having played 130 straight minutes
