NC State Wins Wolfpack Invitational
The host Wolfpack took care of business last weekend with victories over Milwaukee and Charlotte to take home the tournament title. State's Shayla Fields was named MVP after averaging 25.0 points per game, including a career-best 33 in the championship victory over Charlotte on Sunday. Nikitta Gartrell was also selected to the All-Tournament team by averaging 17.5 ppg.
Shayla Fields Fills It Up
Shayla Fields' career best 33 points last Sunday against Charlotte was the most points scored by a NC State player since Summer Erb had 34 points against Mississippi State on March 13, 1999.
Fields led the ACC in scoring at 25.0 ppg through the first weekend of play. She was limited to just two points in the victory over Elon Tuesday night and fell to fifth in the ACC at 17.3 ppg.
Shayla Fields Forever
After leading the ACC in minutes played last season, senior Shayla Fields has picked up where she left off last season - sitting fourth in the conference at 33.0 minutes per game over three games.
