Men's Cross Country Falls Just Short At Regionals
11/15/2008 12:00:00 AM | Cross Country
Needing at least a second-place finish, NC State's men's cross country team fell short of automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships on Saturday, finishing third at the NCAA Southeast Regionals. NC State's Bobby Mack finished second in the men's 10k race in a time of 30:17.8, and qualified for the national race as an at-large participant by virtue of finishing among the top four individuals. Junior John Martinez finished eighth in a time of 30:32.7.
The Wolfpack men will find out on Sunday if they have the proper criteria to qualify for a team at-large bid to the NCAA Championships, which will be held in Terre Haute, Ind., on November 24. The women finished 18th and will not qualify for nationals.
