Weinacker, Welte Advance at ITA Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Seniors Christian Welte and Jay Weinacker advanced to the semifinals of doubles competition at the Wilson/ITA Mideast Regional Championships on Oct. 19 in Chapel Hill, N.C. The duo defeated Sebastien Vidal and Richard Wardell of William and Mary, 8-6. The pair will finish competition tomorrow.
Welte also competed in singles, falling in the quarterfinals. He defeated Maciek Sykut of Florida State, 6-7, 6-3, 6-0, to advance to the quarterfinals, but then fell to Damon Cooch of Elon, 6-3, 6-0, to end his stay in singles play at the tournament.
