Bona Jones To Race At USA Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. — An All-American in cross country as a true freshman, NC State’s Bona Jones will race this Saturday at the USA Cross Country Championships, which will be held at the Flatirons Golf Course near Boulder, Colo.
The USA Cross Country Championships is the Team USA selection event for the 2007 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. Jones will run in the women’s junior race, which will begin at 11 p.m. MST.
Jones was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Year after a fourth-place finish at the ACC Championships on October 28 in Charlottesville. She went on to earn All-America honors with a 26th-place finish at the NCAA Championships on November 20 at Terre Haute, Ind. She was the 10th freshman runner in NC State history to earn All-America honors, the ninth in the women’s program.
