RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State Women’s Basketball team will host its only pre-season exhibition game on Wednesday night when the Wolfpack takes on Premier Players at Reynolds Coliseum at 7:00 p.m.
NC State, which is ranked No. 25 in the pre-season ESPN/USA Today poll, is eager to get the new season underway under head coach Kay Yow, who begins her 33rd year on the sidelines with the Wolfpack in 2007-08.
Premier Players is a team of former collegiate standouts including Sydney Spencer and Dominique Redding from Tennessee and Leah Metcalf from North Carolina. The team has compiled a 3-4 record after defeating No. 9 Georgia, 81-64, last night in Athens. Premier dropped games to North Carolina and Pitt before topping Duquesne. Following a loss to Louisville, Premier defeated Georgia Tech on Sunday, lost to Florida State on Monday, before downing the Lady Bulldogs last night.

The Wolfpack is slated to open the 2007-08 season this Sunday at home against UNC Greensboro at 2 p.m.
