Letter from Coach Kay Yow
10/8/2007 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
Dear Friends,
I hope this letter finds you healthy, happy and enjoying the start of Fall. As I see the leaves change and the temperatures cool, I can’t help but get excited as the start of the basketball season draws near.
The reason for my letter today is to invite you to join me and my dear friend, Peggy Kirk Bell, at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Kay Yow Classic on October 31. This event will be held at Pine Needles, the top ranked golf course in the country for women, and will be filled with great golf and a lot of laughs. For those of you that have never met Peggy, don’t miss the chance to visit with one of the greatest golf teachers of all time.
The purpose of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Kay Yow Classic is to help fund new initiatives for the NC State Women’s Basketball program and to raise money for the Pretty in Pink Foundation. As many of you know, I am currently battling in my third bout with breast cancer, so I am on a mission to raise awareness and to provide resources for others to fight cancer. I ask you to please help me. The Pretty in Pink Foundation is a wonderful charity that helps uninsured and underinsured women with breast cancer receive treatment, education and support so that they too may become survivors.
I would love to see you at Pine Needles at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Kay Yow Classic. I will be there to share some thoughts with you prior to your round of golf, and I plan to ride around the course for a photo shoot with each team. After all, it is through personal relationships that we are enriched, and through teamwork we achieve the most! Thank you for helping my basketball program and the Pretty in Pink Foundation!
Warmest Personal Regards,
Kay Yow
