M. Tennis Falls in ITA All-American

Senior Nick Cavaday and junior Jay Weinacker fell in their second round matches of the qualifying rounds of the ITA All-American Tournament. NC State had three players in the main qualifying draw, as junior Derek Stephens finished his run yesterday in the first round after three wins in the pre-qualifying tournament.
Cavaday, the tournament's No. 8 seed, lost to Dmytro Petrov of Oklahoma St., 7-5, 6-1.
Weinacker went to a tiebreak in the first set, but fell 7-6(3). In his second set, Jack baker of South Alabama held on for a 6-3 win to take the match.
NC State will return to the courts Oct. 12-14 at the University of South Carolina Invitational.
