Turner Advances to Round of 32 at ITA Mideast Regionals

NC State's Eric Turner advanced to the round of 32 in the qualifying round of the ITA Mideast Regional Championships in Charlottesville, Va. before falling. Rob Lowe and Frideric Prandecki both won their first match to make it to the round of 64 in the prestigious field. The main draw starts Friday with Nick Cavaday, Jay Weinacker, Derek Stephens and Christian Welte competing in the field for the Wolfpack.
Turner started play in the round of 64 after a walkover, defeating Bogdon Yodonov of Norfolk St. In his next match, Turner defeated Guy David of Charleston Southern in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2. Turner then fell to ETSU's Lisandro Picardo.
Frideric Prandecki won his first match in three tough sets, 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 over Brian Rubenstein of UNC Wilmington. He fell in the second round, 6-3, 6-3, to Nick Meros of Virginia.
Rob Lowe defeated Min Cho Seung with a score of 6-3, 6-1. In his second match he fell in three sets to Alex Funkhouser of Old Dominion, 1-6, 7-5, 6-4.
