M. Tennis Set for ITA Mideast Regional Championships

NC State men's tennis will continue its fall season with the ITA Mideast Regional Championship in Charlottesville, Va. The tournament runs Oct. 17-22 and will feature the top players in the mideast region, one of the toughest regions in the country. The Wolfpack will send seven players to the tournament with four slated for the main draw.
Nick Cavaday, Jay Weinacker, Derek Stephens and Christian Welte are in the main draw of the singles field, while Rob Lowe, Frideric Prandecki and Eric Turner will start out in the qualifying draw.
In doubles, Cavaday and Weinacker will join teammates Welte and Stephens in the main doubles field. Lowe and Prandecki will compete in the qualifying draw for a spot in the main field.
Cavaday is ranked No. 55 in singles in the preseason ITA rankings and is 2-2 in limited action this fall. In doubles, Cavaday/Weinacker are ranked No. 29 and are an impressive 8-1 and were quarterfinalists in the ITA All-American Main Draw.
Weinacker is 2-2 in singles in the fall, Welte is 3-3 and Stephens is 3-1 this fall.
Prandecki is 1-3 in singles this fall and is 1-1 in doubles with Lowe. Lowe is 2-1 in singles during his freshman fall season.
