Men's Tennis Readies for Chapel Hill, Tulsa

Raleigh, N.C. - Several members of the NC State men's tennis program will return to the courts over the course of the weekend as eight of the 10 team members participate in various tournaments. Three players will compete at the UNC Fall Invitational, while five others will show their talents against top-flight competition at the 2006 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships.
David Rozek, Frideric Prandecki and Daniel Schinke will compete at the UNC Fall Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C., Friday, Sept. 29 - Sunday, Oct. 1. Rozek enters the tournament with a 2-4 record in singles and a 2-1 doubles slate after competing at both the UNC Wilmington Fall Invitational and the Residence Inn North Wolfpack Classic. Prandecki and Schinke will both make their debuts with the red and white in Chapel Hill. Play will be held on the UNC campus.
Andre Iriarte, William Noblitt, Nick Cavaday, Jay Weinacker and James McGee will all travel to Tulsa, Okla., to participate in the 2006 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships. Iriarte, Weinacker and McGee will begin play on Saturday. Sept. 30, while Noblitt and Cavaday will take the courts on Monday, Oct. 2.
Weinacker stands at 3-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles after a healthy showing at the Residence Inn North Wolfpack Invitational. Noblitt and McGee both posted 3-1 singles records at the UVa Fall Invitational, while Noblitt went 1-1 with Cavaday in doubles. Cavaday, currently ranked No. 39 nationally in the preseason Fila Collegiate Tennis Rankings, went 2-1 in solo play. Iriarte makes his spring debut after suffering from multiple injuries throughout last season.
The 2006 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships stands as the first of three national championship events during the 2006-07 collegiate tennis season. Other events include ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships and the NCAA Championships.
