Cavaday Sharp in Futures First Round

Irvine, Calif. - Nick Cavaday of the NC State men’s tennis team collected a noteworthy victory on Friday, Sept. 22, at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) USA F24 Futures event in Irvine, Calif. In the first round of play, Cavaday knocked off Rylan Rizza in straight sets, 7-6(7-2), 6-1, to advance to the second round of play. Rizza played at No. 2 singles last season for the University of Virginia. Cavaday will return to the courts tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 23, for a second round bout.
