Weinacker Advances at Home Tournament

Complete Results - Day II : Singles Schedule - Day III
Raleigh, N.C. – Jay Weinacker won two singles matches to move past the Flight A singles semifinal round on Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Residence Inn North Wolfpack Invitational in Raleigh, N.C. Aside from Weinacker, Chris Welte won a solo match in the Flight A singles quarterfinal round.
In the quarterfinals Weinacker topped Campbell’s Marc Sifre, 6-1, 6-0. After dropping the first set in the semifinals to Mason Schermerhorn of Elon, Weinacker cruised in the final two frames to collect the match, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Welte beat Elon’s Anuwat Dalodorn, 6-2, 6-3, in the quarterfinals before falling to Elon’s Damon Gooch, 6-7(6), 6-2, 6-4, in the semifinals.
In the Flight A doubles semifinals, Weinacker and Welte lost to Davidson’s Ethan Jaffee and Smihaian Flaviu, 8-6.
Play will continue tomorrow during the third and final day of the Residence Inn North Wolfpack Invitational.
