Dickens Named to ACC All-Tournament Team

NC State women's basketball junior Marquetta Dickens was named to the 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Tournament Second team, as announced by the ACC on Sunday, March 5. Dickens, a guard/forward for the Wolfpack posted back-to-back season highs in the NC State's wins over Clemson (16 points) in the first round and Florida State (19 points) in the quarterfinals. She finished with 38 points and 11 rebounds over the three games, including the semifinal game against the No. 1 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday. Dickens is averaging 7.1 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game this season in her 27 appearances.
The Wolfpack, now with a record of 19-11 and won six of its last eight games, idles while it awaits the 2006 NCAA Tournament selection show scheduled for Monday, March 13, on ESPN 7 p.m.- 8 p.m. (EST). NC State's RPI of 10 and No. 1 ranked strength of schedule, in addition to its 19 wins this season, should put into the field of 64 all striving to reach the Final Four in Boston, Mass., April 2-4.
