About the Wolfpack (13-9, 3-6 ACC)
NC State is 2-2 in home conference games and 9-2 on the year. The losses have both come against ranked opponents, then No. 4 North Carolina and No. 23 Boston College. The Wolfpack returns home for the first time since hosting BC on Jan. 30. Junior Ashley Key has led the way for the Pack with her back-to-back double figure scoring performances and three of the last four. She is averaging 10.7 ppg overall and 10.2 ppg in ACC contests. She is also dishing out a team-best 4.00 assists in that time. The Pack has struggled on the boards lately, allowing its last four opponents win the rebound battle and six of the last seven. Turnovers continue to drop however, which is a positive to consider. NC State had just 15 at Florida State. The Pack has had fewer than 20 in its last six games, including a conference low 11 against Boston College. Sophomore Khadijah Whittington is leading the Pack's rebound effort with 7.2 rpg in conference play and 7.9 rpg overall, which is fifth among the conference leaders. Teammate, senior Tiffany Stansbury is second in the ACC for her offensive rebounds a game, 3.19.
NC State in the ACC
With the Atlantic Coast Conference owning the nation's top RPI, NC State can say it has helped significantly. The Wolfpack is one of three ACC schools in the Top 10 RPI (UNC 2nd, Duke 4th and NC State 10th). NC State's strength of schedule leads all ACC schools and is ranked first in the nation. NC State also finished its non-conference slate with a 10-3 record, with two of those losses coming to ranked teams (No. 6 Rutgers and No. 22 Utah). That winning percentage of 76.9 improved the ACC's overall non-conference winning percentage to 82.3 percent on the year. The Pack is 3-6 against ACC opponents this season, having lost to then No. 4 North Carolina and again as the No. 1 ranked team, then No. 2 Duke, at Wake Forest, No. 23 Boston College at home and at Florida State. NC State is currently seventh in the ACC standings.
