NC State women's basketball will travel to Florida State for the first time in two years when it readies to face the 13-7 Seminoles on Sunday. The Wolfpack has lost its last two games overall and last two on the road and is just 1-3 overall on the road in ACC games. However, the last two road games were against No. 2 Duke and No. 1 North Carolina. NC State has averaged 63.0 ppg in the four ACC road games, while shooting 40.2 percent from the floor, 31.3 percent from three-point land and 69.2 percent from the free throw line. McDowell is pacing the Wolfpack with 13.0 ppg in conference play and leads the team with 22 steals in those games. Whittington is leading the squad on the rebound attack with 7.5 rpg, while adding 9.9 ppg. She has also recorded 11 blocks and a second-best 13 steals. Junior Ashley Key posted her first full game as a member of the Wolfpack when she played all 40 minutes at North Carolina. She has played 42 minutes against the Tar Heels last season of the 45 played in the overtime game. She is third on the squad in scoring in ACC contests with 10.1 ppg, while dishing out 4.00 apg.
About Florida State (13-7, 4-3 ACC)
The Florida State Seminoles started the year off with seven-straight home games and have since played their last three games on the road and four of the last five heading into long-awaited return to the confines of the newly named Donald L. Tucker Center. FSU is 9-1 at home this season, which includes a 2-0 record in ACC games. Only Virginia and Clemson have visited the arena so far this season. Overall, three players have averaged double figures in scoring for head coach Semrau. Alicia Gladden leads all players with 12.2 ppg, while teammates Ganiyat Adeduntan and Britany Miller are averaging 11.5 ppg and 10.3 ppg respectively. Gladden is averaging 13.7 ppg in conference games only and also leads the team in rebounds with 6.1 rpg in that time as well.
