McGee, Weinacker Advance in Doubles at Polo Event

Tulsa, Okla. – James McGee and Jay Weinacker won their doubles bout on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the 2006 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. With the win, the Wolfpack pair advances into the main doubles draw. Nick Cavaday and William Noblitt fell in doubles action, while Noblitt dropped his singles contest.
McGee and Weinacker rolled through Wichita State’s Boris Gubic and Goran Vujaklija, 8-2. The win pushes the combo into the main draw of the tournament, which will begin tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 5. Cavaday and Noblitt lost to Henrique Cancado and Harel Srugo of Old Dominion, 8-5, in their doubles pairing. The Cancado/Srugo pairing is current ranked No. 52 nationally in the Fila Collegiate Tennis Rankings preseason poll.
Noblitt dropped his solo contest to No. 121 Dominik Mueller of Baylor after collecting the opening set, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
In addition to McGee and Weinacker’s doubles bout tomorrow, Nick Cavaday, ranked No. 39 nationally, will hit the court in the main singles draw.
