Where are you currently playing (city and country)?
Den Helder, Holland
With what team?
Cape Holland
What position?
1 and 2
When did you start playing over there and when will you return?
I started playing in February and I return to North Carolina at the end of May.
How did you get this opportunity?
The Coach got in contact with my agent, and Cherie Lea also told him that I was a good player. So he invited me to play on his team.
Are you playing with anyone you knew before going over?
I am playing with Cherie Lea, she played at UNC for two years and then transferred to UNC Wilmington.
How is your team doing?
My team is currently in first place and we have home court advantage for the playoffs.
What is the city like?
The city is really beautiful and the people are really nice.
How has this experience been for you?
The experience has been easier than I thought. It didn't take long for me to feel comfortable. The Coach and the players made me feel at home away from home.
Would you do it again and why?
I would definitely do this again. I would do this again because it has been a great learning experience. Their values over here are a lot different. So therefore, when you can meet different people, it always helps you out in some way. I found myself learning new things by the day.
What are your basketball goals with this team?
Coming in the middle of the season made it somewhat difficult to set goals for the team. All I wanted to do was win. When I arrived, the coach immediately told me he wanted leadership on the floor from the point guard position. He basically put the team in my hands.
How did playing at NC State prepare you for international basketball?
Playing for Coach Yow prepared me in so many ways it's hard to mention them all. She prepared me to work well with different types of players, to have patience, display leadership, to be driven, have determination, heart, to always prepare, and the list goes on and on.
