The No. 59 Wolfpack men's tennis team will face its stiffiest challenge of the season in the ACC opener for NC State and No. 6 Duke. The Blue Devils travel to Raleigh, N.C. for a 2:30 p.m. matchup at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on Wednesday, Mar. 2. NC State is 12-0 on the season and off to the second best start in school history, while the Blue Devils are fresh off of a 4-1 win over No. 4 Georgia on Feb. 19. For NC State, William Noblitt 10-0 for NC State in singles, with Andre Iriarte (8-0), Val Banada (6-0) and Mason Schermerhorn (6-0) not far behind.
All together, NC State has 10 players who have won at least one match withouth losing, helping NC State remain undefeated at No. 5 and No. 6 singles for the season.
NC State's Val Banada, Nick Cavaday, Andre Iriarte, William Noblitt, Will Shaw and Conor Taylor will compose the singles lineup on Wednesday.
Duke boasts several national rankings, including the No. 2 singles player in the nation, Ludovic Walter. Jonathan Stokke (No. 61) and Stephen Amritraj (No. 97) are ranked in singles for the Blue Devils, and Stokke and Peter Rodrigues stand as the No. 16 doubles tandem in the nation.
