No. 25 Wolfpack to Host Delaware State

No. 25 NC State women's basketball (5-2) hosts Delaware State (3-1) on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack is fresh off three-straight wins at home last week, including the upset of then No. 19 Vanderbilt on Wednesday and winning its own tournament. Sunday's game marks the end of a four-game home stand for the Pack as it takes to the road for three games, including two at the Duel in the Desert in Las Vegas, Dec. 17 and 18. NC State leads the all-time series with the Hornets, 1-0 and is 21-1 all-time versus the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. NC State will host Delaware State in the fourth of four-straight home games. The Pack is 4-0 at home this year. The Pack re-entered the Associated Press Top 25 this week after upsetting then No. 19 Vanderbilt and then winning its next two games before Monday's release date. Four players are averaging double digits, led by senior Tiffany Stansbury's 14.1 ppg. Senior Billie McDowell follows with 13.0 ppg. Sophomore Khadijah Whittington is third with 11.3 and junior Ashley Key has 10.7 ppg to her credit. NC State has outrebounded each of its seven opponents thus far. The Pack is averaging six three-pointers made a game.
Senior Tiffany Stansbury has recorded double figure scoring performances the last four games ... She is shooting 60 percent from the floor ... NC State is currently riding a 14-game non-conference winning streak in Reynolds Coliseum dating back to Dec. 18, 2002. The Pack is also 4-0 at home this year ... NC State has outrebounded every opponent this season by a margin of at least five rebounds each time ... The Wolfpack has also posted 10 or more steals in four of its seven games ... About Delaware State
The Hornets opened the season with three-straight wins, which includes victories over Monmouth, Florida Atlantic and Columbia. The streak was ended after DSU lost 78-30 at Kansas State. Prior to arriving in Raleigh, Delaware State took on Navy in the first stop of its two-game road trip in Annapolis, Md. Sophomore forward Raquel Collier is leading the Hornets in scoring with an average of 9.5 ppg, while senior forward/center Najmah Fauntleroy leads the squad in rebounds with 6.3 rpg. Sophomore guard Ashley Burbage leads the team in assists and steals. She averages 2.5 apg and has posted 15 steals.
All-Time vs. MEAC
NC State is 21-1 all-time against Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference teams, which includes an all-time record of 12-1 at home. The lone loss was versus Howard on Dec. 1, 1987. The Pack defeated North Carolina A&T last season in Reynolds Coliseum, 76-29 on Dec. 18.
Up Next For NC State
The 25th ranked Wolfpack has a tough schedule waiting for it out West. NC State will face the 23rd ranked Utah Utes in the first of two games as part of the Duel in the Desert in Las Vegas. The other two teams are No. 10 Notre Dame and Arkansas State. The tournament will mark the Pack's third, two-game tournament this year. The final event, named The Duel in the Desert, Dec. 17-18, is hosted by UNLV in the Cox Pavillion on the Rebels' campus. Also on the trip is a swing up to Provo, Utah for a meeting with Brigham Young, which has won all five of its games as of Dec. 7.
