CARY, N.C. -
Ann Wheatey and Jessica Durrant took second and third place, respectively, and Georgia Davis, Jen Boyd and Danielle Boucher were fifth, sixth and seventh Saturday as NC State had no difficulty winning the Wolfpack Invitational at the SAS Complex.
With unattached runners not counting towards the team score, the Pack had a perfect 15 score in the team scoring, defeating Claflin College by a 15-45 score. The Wolfpack used the race as a final measuring stick of the season for its backup runners, who will not line up next week for the NCAA District 3 Championships.
Anna Farias-Eisner of Duke, running unattached, was the individual winner in a time of 17:36.06. Wheatley came in at 18:10.32, and Durrant finished at 18:36.81. Molly Lehman, also of Duke, ran unattached and was fourth at 18:46.15.
Davis finished at 19:00.38, followed by Boyd at 19:05.10, and Boucher at 19:14.46.
