Head Coach Kay Yow's Opening Remarks
To say I'm really pleased with what happened while I was unable to be here would be an understatement. When I returned the things we have been able to continue to build and make progress each week. I am pleased to see our team play very hard and continuing to develop in all areas. The keys for us are to continue development of our inside and play and the consistency of the play of some of our wings.
Personally, I think our point guard Kendra Bell she is I feel like the glue for our team, a great leader on and off the court. She brings a lot to the table for us and makes a big difference for this team.
Yow on Her Health Status
I'm doing well. I feel really good right now. I am fighting a disease and it will take time to tell how I am really doing. I have just chosen right now for a strong nutritional therapy first and foremost to see if I can get my immune system going really great and work on it from the inside out.
Well I am not having chemo or radiation at this time. I am not counting it out, but this is the direction that I have chosen to go at this point in time.
In Response to Support from Players and Extra Effort
Yes, I know they really care and they really want to do what they can to help. I think they wish, like some other do, that there was more that a person can do. I have told them, that I would just like them to reflect my fight. I am a fighter and it makes me happy just to see them be fighters. Just don't give up, not just on the basketball court, but in any and everything their involved with. I want them to take the qualities it takes to be good at basketball and be good at life. They are trying really hard.
